The first stone of this Hotel was laid in 1900 by Zacharie Le Rouzic, a very famous archaeologist in the Carnac region. The Prehistoric history museum was later named after him, along with James Miln.

Thanks to his benefactor friend, Charles Keller, at the age of 36 he was ready to excavate the Saint-Michel Tumulus, whose remains date from the Neolithic era (the New Stone Age, 5000 - 2500 BC), located at the highest point in Carnac. Zacharie bought land at the foot of this structure in order to build a small visitor centre where future visitors could come and buy his photos, brochures and postcards, which were already on sale at the museum, and where they could also buy refreshments.

In the early 70s, bungalows with private gardens and an open-air swimming pool were added to the main building. When Joséphine died, her daughter Mauricette Jacq inherited the business, which she had already been running for some time. All the regulars remember the warm welcome she gave to each and every one. She died at a very young age in 1979, leaving the hotel to her daughter Gwénaëlle, who was 18 at the time. She still runs it today.

In 2006, Gwénaëlle had the hotel fully renovated to its present condition and joined the Châteaux & Hôtels Collection and the Hôtels de Charme et de Caractère en Bretagne hotel networks.
